Blower / heater / windowheater
I didn't know where to put it so I put it here.
I'm on the restauration of a 1303S which will get one-piece- windows so there will be now ventilation through the small ventingwindows in the doors. Because i want to get rid of the allways verry rusty "windowwiperbox" (you can see it in the inside of the trunk) I want to weld the ventilationinlets closed (they are before the frontwindow (in the middle)). Now is my question: have someone done this ever.. and which blower / windowheater dut you use?? Or does someone know if i can use a blower / windowheater from anonther brand of car?? Idon't care if it dont fit in the original box.. (it is so rusty that i have totlaly grinded away) If someone know other soulutions please let me know... I nead it to go further with my restauration.. Thanking you in advance.. (yeah yeah.,.. i have looked up this in a dictionary) WIebrand |
Racelook, I just replied to your question on my SBO! forum before I seen it here.

Hi there.
I also have a 1303 superbeetle, and have done the exact mods you talk of. I welded up the vents beneath the windscreen, smoothed and painted it. I use an eberspacher lorry cab heater in my spare wheel well that is plumbed into the fresh air box. This demists the front windscreen really well :) I am typing a second article up tonight which I will be contributing to the articles on this very site.... Cya, Sam C |

Great article Sam!
Couple of things you didn't mention: What model is it? I'm assuming you purchased it new since it came with all the necessary parts. Where did you buy it? Thanks! |
Thanx for the article Sam!!
