Removing paint.....

Is there an easier way to remove paint from my cars chassis. I want to strip it to bare metal so I can coat it with POR-15. I have tried a wire wheel, a 3-M fiber disc, POR-15 paint stripper, regular paint stripper, and an elctric sander. I am having a really hard time getting the paint off of my new floorpans. Help. I don't care if the solution is toxic or dangerous, as long as it works...;)

sand blasting works just lovely on pans.

I personally like 2 part epoxy paint on bare metal, tough as anything and looks sharp. Did a friends pan with 2 part epoxy primer then 2 part gloss black. and because its a chemical cure rather than air cure, you can lay it on thick and its dry within an Hour.

Yeah you might wanna try getting it blasted, I preffer sand when you deal with rust and soda blasting when all you need to do is get the paint off, it doesn't damage anything, good luck man.

If you don't want to do that, Ryobi makes great angle grinders, make sure that the wheel is brass-coated steel wire and it should do the trick. It's time consuming but it works great and takes off anything. I used one on my dads Harley to strip all the paint and bondo off, and it took everything off....

Hope that helps man:D

I figured it out. It was too cold yesterday for the stripper to work. It was like 45 degrees and today it is 70 degrees. The paint now comes off with a garden hose. Although I do have a little headache now from the stripper.:silly:
