Finally got the adapter, got everything together and was working on the rear mount/carrier I made and thought I would share some pics...

Very cool !
Is that rear bar also an engine mount ? Rob. |
Yes, although not really needed yet. The engine doesn't droop any, even without the bar bolted up - just wanted a little insurance for the added HP.

Panel,
Thats looking so cool.... your work is so professional  You'll have to post some close ups when it's up and running. Rob. |
Lookng good.
Are you going to have any badging on the outside to let the rest of the world what you have in there or are you going to make them figure it out the hard way. "wanna race " ;) |
Thanks Rob! I'm no where near pro level, this is home garage all the way! Up close, my welding skills leave a LOT to be desired in the looks deparment but they will definately hold up! I had a piece that I welded wrong and had to take it back apart...Whew! Glad to know it doesn't have to look pretty to hold together.
Up and running is still several months away, mostly because of budget (lack of budget). BG, stealth all the way baby! If they don't get a clue from those meats out back, they deserve whats coming to them! :bawling: "b-b-but it was just an old VW b-b-bus" :bawling: |
Very clean job. :agree:
That evaperator coil is huge, you could run a keg chiller with that thing  All hail the brew bus :D Just kidding. That is a very nice conversion :agree: |
What is this engine??? I have no idea as I'm from the UK
Whats its spec |
I belive its an ECOTEC 2.0 liter. It's from a Chevrolet automobile but I'm not sure what model. :)
|
Oh OK they fit them to GM cars over here as well
|
Yes, Ecotec. 2.2 liter in the states, used in most J platform GM's (Saturn, Cavalier, Sunfire, and also in the Saab turbo although that one is de-stroked to 2.0). The import drag racers have made 1000 hp with the stock bottom end. I hope to make 350hp maybe next year when I go turbo.
