Uh oh! little much sprung weight?

I just realised, In geting all excited that the Super Beetle can except 944 rear suspension and brakes. And that I can work on the front and have this KICKBUTT handling car that could pull some serious G's and run away from just about *anything* in the twisties(would that be a true statement?) and keep up handling wise with bigger badder sports cars and lower exotics on the racetrack (the car would keep up with them in most other areas too if it had the power which is the expensive part..)

That is prety much the idea I've gotten. Would that be correct?

It occured to me, that with all the heavy Porsche parts on a beetle that I might actually have a very strong disavantage with sprung to unsprung weight Every little bump will disturb the body and *bink* you lost traction.

Don't worry, this conversion has been proven on the track: http://www.germanlook.com/Html/Featu...06June2003.htm

I can understand at the track, bumps are to a minamum (sp?). I'm talking about on the sreet, hitting a few one after another bumps on a nice twisty road and going.. ahhh!!

Well yes, the car is going to ride a little stiff and tight but that is expected with any sports car.

Theres a difference between a stiff ride, and the movement of the unsprung weight disturbing the body. ??
