Type 1 SWING vs. IRS? output dif flange interchangable?

Problem: car is 1957 type1, Bad Swing axle (grinds gears etc.). Have a healthy Rebuilt IRS (welded 3 & 4th etc.) No budget.
Question: can I change the dif frome Swing axle remove the dif from IRS instal into the 57?
