Running Board question
I posted this on Samba since STF was down, and got a bunch of snide remarks (that's why I don't post there in the first place!). So here goes again:
I picked up a new set today. The cheap Brazilian kind. Anyway, the ends of the boards have rubber that overlaps (goes past) the board by 1/2 inch or so. Should I try to glue that rubber around the bend, or do I just trim it even with the board? The rubber also seems to be not glued in some spots, what type of glue should I use to fasten it? I tried a little weather stripping cement, but I'm not sure it'll work. Contact cement seems too messy. Thanks |
RTV should be good to glue it. it might work for folding it over. probably worth the try and if it comes back up, then trim it. i have c/f running boards and used vacuum hose to finish the edges. might work in your case too.
no snide comments here. |
That's why I love this forums. Just answers. I plan on CF boards in the future, but right now I just needed something. Thanks Zen.
