Found it!!! 17X7 in 4x130

Hi group,
really it was so hard to find, i though you would be happy to share this with me.
At last, we can find 17" wheels with the proper bolting pattern for our bugs (4x130, ET38). There is 3 models to chose from that look quite nice.

If you want more information, the contact is Alex at rims@cox.net and he is really helpfull.
That made my day. Just wanted to share this with you.
Cheers,

Does "Alex" have a store front address, a Web site, a phone number, an actual business?

I don't want to be the suspicious type, but experience has made me so. It doesn't help this "find" is coming from someone with two posts -- both here.

By the way, the pics show rims with a 5xsomething pattern.

Noticed that too. It'd be nice to find some newer style wheels in the right bolt pattern, but I'm not crazy about any of those styles.

I've seen this stuff before.

Essentialy what you have here are some billet style wheels that can be cut out to pre designated shapes from a block and set to a specific bolt pattern. There are lot's available through different suppliers although not many ever order 4x130 even though they could because it just isn't used that often w/ those hot rod people. As Dropped and ratted VW rods have come into favor recently there have been a few peeps out there that have opted for a few wheels in that bolt pattern. If you contact anyone who has access to the machinery they could make you a wheel in any design w/ ANY boltpattern. The custom motorcycle industry uses these RPT machines a lot.
Anyway...so it IS possible I found these a while back at airkewld:

I didn't like all the styles available in 4x130 but they are there if you look for them. Just too expensive for my taste and too "Hotrodder" not "GL"

Hi guys,
they seem to have a valid company (as far as i can judge) with a decent website. The main reason why i did not posted the web adress is that i didn't wanted to be considered as a spammer. I knew also about the airkewld wheels but if you look for 17x7 in 4x130 you end up in weird selections (at a price...).
Really guys, i was so discouraged while shopping for this. For weeks I sent dozens of email all over the world (even in japan!) to find it. You are quite right that all it takes is a manufacturer small enough to be willing to reajust his CNC drilling machine and make to fit, but after contacting about 30 manufacturer (some very small, some very big), i received always the same answer.
At the end when i got that positive answer it was quite a news. Then to help the community i went to as many vw forums as i could the spread the good news. The thing is if those companies realize that we form a decent market, maybe they will serve us better and better with newer products.
For your info, Alex works for Winston's Place at http://www.winstonsarea51.com. He was by far the most reactive and most probably used his influence with his suppliers to convince them to go 4x130. I felt this worth mention.
Have a good day guys.

I found these...

I like the price on the ATS wheels the had:

http://www.winstonsarea51.com/atsclassic.html

But I don't even know if this is a good price for this wheel...it's a good price for me. Apart from that i didn't see any other 4x130 wheels. I e-mailed that Alex guy, but no response yet..we'll see what happens.
