BK member to build a GL Notch
Well I heard from Scott Jones tonight and the search for a Notch has turned up a very clean, rot free, nice paint, 5x130 disc brake equiped, with all new parts in boxes to build a 2007 and a set of Fuchs with nice tires. He went to Jakes with me yesterday and it looks like he wants to go for a 2056 type 4 and 901 trans. he has a 1.7 and trans from a 914 the will be the cores for the drivetrain and Jake will help him in any way he can to get the BK Prez. into a type 4 GL. He will still be a BK member with a sweet GL notch for his daily driver. I think that is just the way it shold be, GL car to drive, BK car to drag on the trailer. I hope to see Scott as a VKG member very soon. :agree:

Man am I jealous!!!
That's great to gain a new member, especially when he's the president of another club! |
sounds sweet Dave!
What year Notch is it? |
Scott will be a great addition to the club in more ways than one....Knowing the quality of his cars I am looking forward to seeing the notch when it is done.

I believe it is a 65. It belonged to the guy that runs the parts dept. at Herrell's Bug Parts. I had the rear drums drilled for him after the BK Dyno Day. He was going to GL the car but then needed to sell the project so Scott bought it.

a very cool find. really hoping he follows through. just love GL notchs. its nice to see that we are making a difference in the world. :D if BKPrez makes it over to the light side...Overspray must be next.

Shouldn't that be the darkside? :D  |
BTW, VKG Prez should have a GL Notch soon as well. I should have my
brothers 69 Notch very shortly. The 62 RHD Notch will probably be gone soon. I may be trading it for a free paint job on my ragtop  |

about Type 3's that were totally custom (non-stock). Since that time I have seen many people refer to custom vws of any type as being on the darkside (as opposed to being stock or on the light side) :D But I see your point as well  |
