68-73 bumpers on a 74 ? ?

can i use the early super beetle bumpers on my 74 super ? i'm in need of new ones now that its back from paint...and looking at the bumpers on there now they don't look right. i'm looking for something a little thinner...not quite as thick/fat. i don't need to put turn signals in them...those are in the headlights...just need some new clean looking chrome bumpers without the impact strip in them. thanks -nick
