Where can I get a rollcage?

That's exactly it...looking to get one. Preferably bolt-in, but weld in one will do.

I'm not looking for a super duper NHRA spec drag rollcage, or some super duty Kafer one. Just something for "just in case".

I remember there being one for like $400 that was bolt-in, but I can't remember what it was.....

At first I want to give the snappy "use the Search feature" comeback. ;) The two that come to mind are the Ron Lummis Racing or the AutoPower roll bars. Both are bolt-in. The RLR bar is NHRA approved. The AutoPower Street-Sport bar is SCCA and NASA approved (and 1/2 the $$$), but not NHRA approved.

Me too!

I'm looking for a cage/roll bar too. For just about the same reason, the What if... I looked on the second site, and I didn't find anything for the AC bug. or Ghia. I know RLR sells them, but they are A LOT of $$$$$ When I looked it was getting upwards of $1000 with half being shipping and crating!! Crazy!

Know anywhere I can find one for a Ghia?

Thanks

That's what sucks...the damn shipping. It'd be cool if somebody offered one that came in pieces, and you welded them together, so the shipping box isn't so damn huge.....

Mikey,

If you find a supplier of a Ghia cage, drop me a PM.

I will need one for my 61 Ghia Hardtop, once the cabrio is done.

I've even played with the option of buying a hydrolic tube bender and fabing one up of my own, plus a custom exhaust or two. I figure that if I did mine and maybe sold one or two others, it would pay for itself (or at least come close)

Cheers,

Doug

The RLR cage is a lot of dough but if I had the money, I would buy it. If something should ever happen, it would be worth every penny. I heard a saying once, something like... buy a $25 helmate for a $25 head. Think about it. How much is your life worth?

 I thought about buying a bender too and making my own cage, but I simply don't have the time or space. The Ghia is at the painter's house right now, after it leaves there, hopefully, painted. I'll take it back to my buddy's house where he'll help me build it. I'm going to school to become a welder. I believe I could make it, I would just need time and space. I love fabing peices, and if I made my own cage, I could make it SICK! like wiebrand's. That's insperational. (sp?)

Thoughts?

Doug, I'll keep you in mind if I find a cage, or if I buy one first I'll give you a review of it.
