The Shakes
 

Hi I still have my stock 1303s callipers and when i brake at a certain speed while turning I get a judder/shake throught the steering wheel that is definitely coming from the brakes any ideas how to fix other than upgrade I want to keep them stock for the moment.

bulliporker - Exactly the problem.

Take the disc's off the car hand have them checked to see if they can be turned down. If not, pitch them and buy new replacements. Any brake shop should be able to do this for you. I think I paid $10 each to have a set turned a couple of years ago. Make sure you clean everything with a good quality brake cleaner before assembly and avoid touching the rotor when assembling to keep the grease and grime off them.

I would replace the pads in either case, as if the pads are worn or have ridges worn in them, they can contribute to the problem. They aren’t overly expensive anyway and I would personally not want to have to take the whole thing apart again to replace the pads in a few months. Your call though.

thanks for the advice guys and just out of curiosity why is it only when i am braking and have the steering wheel turned to the right that i get the judders?
I would have thought that if it was warped discs that it would happen in straight line braking??

try looking at the steering dampener it may be stuffed causing this problem
