Silverstar Turn Signal Bulb

What is required to run a Silverstar high performance signal bulb in a 1303? They are purple but glow orange when illuminated. I have clear signal lenses and the frosty purple Silverstar bulbs look way cooler than a little red cherry bulb sitting in there.

I fitted some 1157A of these bulbs that are 12V and 27watts each. Took my car for a drive tonight and of course it soon came to a halt, (flat battery?? I will check for sure tomorrow).

Do I need relays? Stock is 21/5W right?

I would not think a relay would be needed or would work with a signal bulb. Run them and feel the wires to see if they get warm.

OK so my dead battery must have happened conincidently on the same day I changed the bulbs. I have a new battery and now all is good. I checked the wires and they weren't significantly hotter when running. So unless anyone has an alternative viewpoint I am assuming its OK to run these bulbs. :)
