8" wide wheels on a '63 bug?
 

Hi,

Ive recently fitted a 944 turbo brake set up to the back of my short axle, stock winged 63 bug. Question is, can I get away with 8" wide rear wheels and if so what mods need to be done to get them under the stock wings and what tyre size is recommended?

Wheels are 16" x 8" x ET52. What spacer size do I need etc??

you might be able to clear with a short axle trans., but i think you would run into problems with clearance on the spring plates and bump stops
