Pushrods

Hello pals. I have to seek your wisdom ones more: I need to change my pushrods on my engine and I was wondering which one to pick... I know it is not one of the most exiting topic but I get lost in the very technical aspect of the motor. I've heard their lengths can make a differance and I've heard alot about chevy pushrods. It would go on a stock 1600dp, mines are leaking. My mecanic wants to put extendable ones... one so sure since I've heard of guys bending theirs: so i guess it should be ridgid. What are your recommandations?

Bump! where can I buy chevy rods?

I saw your post the day you posted it, Do you mean "con" rods or "push" rods, I'm not sure about chevy pushrods, Or after re-reading do you mean pushrod tubes? Please post more info..JR

I mean Push rods. I made a mistake, chevy rods are not Push rods, they are internal part of the engine... Any thoughts on pushrods though?

well... if everything is STOCK (cam,rockers...ect) than i dont see why you need anything other than a stock aluminum pushrod.

If you need a specific length (that you must measure with an "adustable" pushrod) you can go with a set of Manton Chromoly pushods... that are stronger and must be cut to length... but thay are heavy and do not expand at the same rate as the aluminum engine, so they get noisy as the engine heats up due to a larger valve gap.
OR what i would do is use a set of Aircooled.net HD aluminum pushrods, they are strong, lightweight and are quiet as they expand with the motor at the same rate...keeping the valve clearance the same. they are a little more expensive, but i think well worth it. this is what im using in my 1914cc T-1 motor.

And also you mentioned leaks? are you talking about the pushrod TUBES?
