engine number location

I am importing a Suby EJ20 engine and the shipper is unable or too lazy to find the engine serial number. I need this info for Customs.

Where is the engine number located?

On my last one it is stamped into the top of the engine block, flywheel end, half obscured by one of the intercooler brackets..
