New to Type 4 power
 

Hey all,
This is my first post here. I recently purchased a 1.7 411 engine for my Type 3.This engine has stock dual carbs instead of FI. My question is...is there anything I "must" do to this engine?It has been sitting for 10 years in the car. The engine has 25,000 miles on it. I want to leave it almost stock and enjoy the car for awhile.Then once I understand the type 4 powerplant I will upgrade.

After sitting for 10 years, it would be prudent to at least pull the heads and have a look at the cylinders. A carb rebuild, oil change, tune up would be the minimum if the engine is ok internally.
