911 Fan/Alt, and SharpBuilt Conv

Okay first thing fist, has anyone got an exploded diagram for the 911 fan. And has anyone got a wiring diagram for the altenator.

Secondly,

Anyone used the type 1 sharp built conversion. What do you think? Do they assist cooling, and is the cooling balanced on the 4 cylinders.

Thanks for your time

ive got the type 1 conversion on my bug from sharpbuilt. its not a bad kit but it seems to work better with the cut down sbug shroud rather than the scat tight fit 36hp one.

go and check out aircooled technology forums for advice on the porsche fan and cooling for the type IV, jake has done some extensive testing on those against his DTM setup. there are also some good info on shoptalkforums.for what its worth i sold my 911 setup and type 1 for type IV with dtm b/c the 911 looks great but doesnt cool 2&4 that well b/c air doesnt like to turn 90 degree angles. the reason it works well with the flat 6 is its actually moved forward about an inch (25.4mm) so im told. one of the guys on these forums took his 911 setup and made some mods and he said it works really well.

I realise that this is an old post but thought it might be useful for someone else.

mike did a lot of testing and research when he first designed the type1 kit to make sure it cooled the motor as efficiently as a standard type 1 does
turns out the flow rate of a twinport doghouse and a pancake type4 fans are fairly similar
Joe Cali is the other person to speak to about that style as well
