Tire Reccomendations for 16" fuchs(6's and 7's)

Having a little trouble on what tire size a I should go with. I have a set of fuchs off a mid 80's Carrera. Typical 6 and 7 , 16 inch fuchs.
Anyway what tire sizes should I run?
Been thinking of going with 195/50/16's up front and 205/55/16 in the rear. But
I also like the sounds of 205/50/16 in the front, and 225/50/16 in the rear. Both rear sizes are about the same as stock from what I gather.

I drive a 64 beetle. Linkpin front end , short swing axle in the rear.

Anyone and thoughts? Please even tell me what your running on the same rims, standard or super. Any pics would be more than welcome.

Cheers

PS Any one in the Greater Seattle area know this ride?? Blue vert. I took this pic back in 2003,downtown Seattle. Did pay enough attention to the rolling gear at the time.
Any help appreciated!

Will this alter the speedometer on a VW?

At the risk of being a prima donna, how does this look on the Fuchs from an aesthetic standpoint?

Hey thanks for the response.
Jason,
Are there any issues getting 225s on a 7 inch rim, for a short axle. Any rubbing on the fenders(stock) and or spring plates?? Any pics of what this combo looks like?

Cheers
Dean

On a long axle I had 215/60/15s on the rear, a hair away from rubbing on the inside of stock fenders, but there was room on the inside between the tire and the spring plate. I didn't realize you were actually asking what size to put on straight up, I was thinking you had planned on room for the sizes you'd mentioned. I think with 195/50/15s on the front I rubbed on stock fenders and rubbed the rear inner fender where the footwell is. I don't remember what offset those wheels were. Currently I've got 205/50/17s on the front, 255/40/18s on the rear but nothing is stock anymore.
