Has anyone built tubular spring plate arms for a swing axle beetle... Or even I.R.S

I want to get away from rear torsion bar suspension and go with adjustablew coils, so I have been thinking...

I kinda doubt there would be any change in the spring plates behavior (other than the obvious) when the torsion bar is removed, providing the bushings are in place and the bolts are properly...

The rear coil over kit (eagle) seems very cheesy to me... Why not just remove the torsion bars and fit new bushings, then bolt everything else back up? Seems like you'd be doing the same thing,...
