Sheetmetal work has been a little slow at start, but now were are doing fine, but as usual, i suspect that getting it painted may take 3-5 weeks.

I sanded half of the roof and sides, a lot less...

Indeed 16" tires are as lowprofile harder to find, only common sizes are probably 225/50/16 and 205/50/16, ...

I have been looking tire and wheel sizes for my mendeola front suspension equipped project. What is too much? Lets say that you have atleast mendeola or strut front suspension and good rear coilovers...

If the beetle with good chassis weighs 800-900, including heavier engines and transaxles, most wider 17 and 18" tire sizes are more than enough, maybe.

What is too much? I'v seen on some beetles...
