Should have the rear brackets completed some time...

Should have the rear brackets completed some time next week to assemble evertything. Just installed a Porsche 944 master cylinder also and now just need some new copper brake lines and a new stop...

front wheels are 8.5x18 and have 225/35/18 tires...

My EJ20TT engine's timing cover clears the rear apron and the fenders, it's only mounted forward with reversing the rear engine mount and that should be enough.

I know I was able to lift my type 1 engine bare handed onto the trans of my bug ( wasn't easy) nut I would not even try to lift the EJ20TT alone

I'd say go for it, the amount of fabricating to fit either trans would be about the same IMO so if you've located a 930 box for a good price go for the bulletproof one now instead of regretting it...

I've put the 944T front discs and calipers on my stock spindles for now ( the brackets I made up for them do not fit my lowered spindles unfortunately) and put the tarox ones on the dropped spindles....

I had one (6 plates) on my EJ20TT with a stage 2 kennedy pressure plate and pulled the clutch after only a few days of driving...
