For lowering I would use an adjust-a-strut, However if you plan on switching to large 17x7 wheels i would go with a MAXX strut. both are available at toplineparts.com

Troy, if you are thinking of replacing the body and the pan you should just buy a different beetle and switch all the stuff you have on it. Then get teh one you have now roadworthy and sell it....

I think the latter is a "parking brake" while the small drum is a true "E-brake"

the "parking brake" will not keep the car from moving while a "e-brake" will.
