what to grab from a 944?

I've been out of the loop for waaaay too long now and I've forgotten most of what I knew about what stuff to grab from a 944 to fit to a semi-auto beetle chassis. It's a beam front, IRS rear chassis....

there's a single bolt in the centre of them...

there's a single bolt in the centre of them (17mm/19mm, I can't remember) and they just "plug out". Installation is the reverse of removal, as they Haynes manual says. :lmao:

I now have 930 size output shafts (redrilled to 944/VW Type4/VW bus size CV bolt pattern), 944 CV joints, early turbo aluminium trailing arms, 944 turbo drive shafts and it all works nicely.

yeah, you'll find the VW/Audi logo inside the steering wheel of a Porsche 924 (and I'm sure many other 924 parts too). I presume it's standard for parts manufactured under the VAG group...

I think the general rule is to use drive shafts to suit the arms you use. I.e. if you use steel arms, use driveshafts from a car that had steel arms. I've got the *narrower* aluminium trailing arms...
