Is...

Theory

Here's an idea. I think your engine will go pretty hard just being a big capacity with a turbo. You could simply start with some good, suitable castings like 044s or street eliminators. All you'd...

springs & ports

Hi,

I don't mean to make things complicated but does your 1300 have twin port heads? It may work better if that's the case.

Some new valve springs wouldn't hurt. You can change these with the...

100rwhp 1915 build

I've just finished putting together the sort block on my latest engine combination for my 750kg circuit racing oval.

Here are the specs:
Counter-weighted crank,
Balanced rods & pistons,...

Budget

Racing is expensive.

Jak and I have decided that we have to draw a line somewhere to avoid cheque book racing. That's why there's not LSDs, custom gear ratios, brembo brakes etc.

It's all about...

When I had stiff front suspension I had horrid understeer and I noticed the tyre pressures weren't increasing like the back ones were. I did 4 laps on a really cold day and the pressures in the front...

Hi Kev

My setup was always supposed to be simple based on what other people had already figured out. However it didn't quite work out properly. The car started with terminal understeer and then...

Re

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Oh and hi Jak, fancy bumping into you here. Jak's got some good stories. In fact, nobody in his neighbourhood will race his beetle at the traffic lights. He's...

That's probably a really good idea.

I've just put together a DVD of some hillclimbs they do here in Australia....

Performance?

It's not a drag car it's a circuit racer with a standard gearbox. Most people can relate to quarter mile times so I'll start by stating that it a 14.9 second quarter mile at the 2004 VW nationals.

He's not lazy. He's just swanning around in Australia.

It was good to meet you James.

I've checked out the German Look forum on your suggestion. I could spend a fair bit of time here.
