DO NOT forget to get reimbursement for new car seats. They are supposed to be replaced when in a crash. Do so, but don't throw the old ones away! The insurance company will want to have them in...

I think we ought to compare apples and apples here. IIRC, the $10k-$12k figure thrown around for a 2270 T4 was for a custom engine assembled with a lot of hands on involvement by a leader in T4...

Go to the Tire Rack website, and hunt down the technical sheets for your tires. It will list the safe rim width range. If your rim width isn't on there, I would say it's unsafe.
