Hi,
I did just what you are proposing. I've installed a 2.0 from a 914 that originally had FI into my bug.
Aside from the usual upright conversion items, I would suggest a cup brace as I have terrible wheel hop at the moment.
I have a stock 2.0 with 44 IDF's and a BAS header with custom exhaust. The engine still has the original FI cam in it.
