I have a set of 1" bolt-on style spacers on the back of my car. No problems at all. Just make sure they're of good quality. Unfortunatly, that often means high $. I paid something around $200 for mine, but they were also out of the Tweeks catalog, which can be a little expensive.

Anyway, as long as everything is put together correctly and you use good quality, you'll be OK.
