no prob with it.. on my 2,7 (82x103) the engine of my GL convertible..i've got a set of 914 2 litres heads with 40x46 valves sets heads are re- welded as pipes and modified spark plug position much smaller plugs now (motobike model) no prob for it and it work's..
on an other site on the 2366cc (71x103) on my racing 1303 with 914 2 litres modified with 40x48 valves, heavy welding on and on pipes with 51,5 IDA on my racing beetle engine work's like hell, and it's rather okey to have fun with other car on track.. heaven cars with more HP than my beetle..
I can tell you, no prob, go for it.. you heaven can use 914 heads on a 84 or 86 crank without any prob.... remmele as done 2 years ago a 3 liter type 4 with 914 heads.. it still goes well..
