My conversion works a little diferent than most.

I've used 86 944 turbo hubs, calipers and 298mm turbo disks.

To convert the hub, I've had a machine shop make up some bear bushes to increase the inner and outer bearing sizes so I can use standard porsche bearings.

The caliper required about 2mm to be shaved off the top caliper bolt mount so it would not interfere with the brake pad in the caliper.

Then as for the caliper, I've cut off the top mount. Then made up a piece of 6mm thick aluminium to fill the gap between the caliper and the spindle caliper mount. After carefully marking it all out I've then had an aluminium welder build up a new mounting point.

Then I've smoothed off the whole welding job, sand blasted, primed and painted the calipers.

They now look factory, except for the two mounting points will directly fit a vw spindle now.

To fit on the porsche fuch wheels It will require 14mm spacers and 60mm wheel studs from the looks of it, but I was still curious what everyone else was using...

Cheers,

Ian
