I have two sets of real berg 42's and they work flawless. They do have to be torn down and cleaned once a year and are a bit touchy when they get out of sync. Everyone that I've heard of that did a DIY berg copy has the same drip-drip problem. I've only ever used them on Type 1 engines.
Berg did do more to them than just toss in a check valve and charge more.
