I actually have not accomoplished any of my planned mods yet. I've spent two years collecting all the parts since rescuing a '56 Beetle from the desert in Arizona.
So far the plan for the body is:
'56 Body on a '69 chassis
993 headlights (stock, possibly Litronic conversion)
New Beetle taillights (stock)
Audi A4 door handles (later style from a 2000)
Design 90's (16x6, 16x8)
one piece windows
hidden hinges
no stock chrome
late rear apron/deck lid (1974 FI if I remember correctly)
flared fenders (as wide as necessary, I'm anticipating about 2 inches in back, 1-2" in the rear; I will be trying my hand at fiberglass/CF once I get the chassis together and the track finalized)
These flares will be the bubble-type, that hug the tire, the typical style of GL. I already have everything listed above except for the fenders. The idea is for the car to look as smooth and uncluttered as possible, while making it as functional as possible.
