Figured on updating you guys what I've found. The rear calipers and rotors that are on the ford, merc, and lincoln are the same. Whether or not they are the same as those CB sell I dont know. But they also vary the rotor size from what the 914 rotor is.
The stock Taurus thickness is 12.7 thick, where as the 914 is 9.5mm. I believe the difference is because of the brake pad size, if they are the same.
Either way I found that the 88-92 rear Rx7 rotor is 10mm thick and the bolt pattern I need, 5x114.3. Because this is bigger than the 9.5mm 914 rotor I may need to shave down .25mm off the brake pads, if clearance is that close, not that big of a deal.
So it seems if I get the calipers either through VW parts guys; CB, SoCal, or one of the other places that sell this same kit. And the Rx7 rotors, then CSP's rear extra thick drum. I can make a caliper bracket, machine the drum into a hub, and use the stock Rx7 rotor.
I'll probably see if Lanner can make me up a spacer that comes off the new hub to keep the wheel hubcentric and the rotor centered better.
What do you guys think?
