I got the tape measure out previously for a friend but these should also help you:
bottom of sump to crank centre: 275mm
bottom of sump to top of throttle body: 620mm
end of crank pulley to other face of engine (length): 410mm
width between heads: 760mm
overall width of cam pulley covers: 810mm
The 2" that people move the trans is because that is the number that comes when you reverse the rear cradle, I'm sure you could get away with less than that as it is very close to fitting without any movement.
For ground clearance it is easy to get about 30mm more by shortening the sump to the exhaust level, any more than that and you have to relocate the oil filter and modify/replace the exhaust.
