I have seen people who mount there external oil cooler by the package tray and the transmission. Some NACA ducts directed to cutouts in the package tray might deliver more air flow in that situation. Either from the windows or a hood mounted scoop.

I actually like the look of the hood scoop on the UniRoyal racecars. If some one is doing a full racelook and could use the scoop for practical reasons, like directing air to an oil cooler or maybe to feed fresh air to the cooling fan or something like that.

But I guess it would have to fit in with the overall "style" of the car.
