Hello I've found someone who has a type4 1.7 for sale for 250$. Engine is complete (heads, case, pistons and oil-cooler).
Pistons are almost seased but not crank: it's been sitting for 15 years. Heads must be sandblasted and repared because some exhaust studs wore out the threads and an intake stud is broken.
What do you guys think. Does it worth it? I know a good machinist who knows a little bit about air-cooled.
I also have another type4 option: 2.0l for 800$ But its 3 time more expensive....
