ok so i'll answer my own post
i've got a beetle rack in garage, going on at a later date and tie rods are about 40mm longer, only one is adjustable thou. so swaped out one standard one and fitted one off the rack. sorted, have something looking about right now, just gotta bleed brakes and adjust tracking and should be all sorted
