You are headed in the right direction McCarthy (with GL)! I would suggest doing a search on here in "brakes" section on 944, Brembo, or turbo caliper. This is a very good site for info like that. Also, check out
www.vdubengineering.com for some very helpful info (shameless plug Lanner). The guy who run's the shop is Lanner (AKA flat on forums). He has a spot in the vendor section on here. I personally have brembo's... if you have to rebuild'em $$$$$$$$, but it's your life, and the live's of other's on the road. So, make sure you can STOP, before you can GO!
