Hi Hoghead,
the wedges are only needed if you work with the original floorpan with IRS. The original brackets are not horizontally oriented and to compensate this the wedges are. If you have to weld plates to the brackets that you have then simply adjust them horizontally, then you don´t need the wedges.
The rear traverse has to be bolted against the bellhousing. For this drill through the bellhousing into the aluminium parts and then cut in threads. Take bolts that can be sunk in the bellhousing. Take 2 on each of the aluminium blocks.
