Jason has told me that he thinks the irs drum will fit the swingaxle rear end (thanks jason). meaning that the porsche rotor should fit. possibly with some machining work. can anyone confirm that the rotor will need any work to bolt onto the swingaxle drive axle? any help will be gratefully recieved as i am looking to get the ball rolling on this project asap but want to know as much as i can before i start paying out for the parts.
so far i am looking at the following parts:
a pair on non turbo rear 944 calipers
a pair of early 944 caliper mounts from the steel trailing arms as i am told the bracket is a seperate piece to the trailing arm.
a pair of rear 944 rotors and discs that may or maynot need machine work.
the handbrake mechanism for both sides.
i said i was looking at the early caliper brackets, can any one tell me the year of the 944 that has these brackets that are a seperate piece to the trailing arm?. did the calipers change at all from the steel to the ali trailing arms? ie will any year non turbo calipers fit these brackets.
now i am readying to source the parts, the year of the cars that i need the parts from will be appreciated.
im i looking ok as i am or can somebody put me back on track.
also anyone who has any of the parts that i am going to need that they wish to sell then please let me know. I am also looking at the option of 18 inch wheels. i am trying to get them under stock arches so they must be narrow. so again if anyone has any wheels for for sale in porsche pcd please let me know. the wheels must have good tyres although road rash etc is not a problem as i can get them refurbished.
Thanks for all of your help
Simon.
