PeteVW,
That box you have is quite unique isn't?
I am not to familiar with it, so I need to check with Martin in Germany.. From the internet, I read that its the Porsche 923 transmission is basically a 915 with a 901 bellhousing. It was used in the one-year-only car, the 1976 Porsche 912E. Is that correct.
Shoot me your email address and I will send you some articles that we have that are pdf's and highlight the conversion and what is necessary..
Also can you let me know what motor your going with? Type I, IV, or Subi?
I will verify, but I believe the same holds true, and you will need the following:
- Nose cone short 915 aluminum cast $383.05
- Traverse front mount al. Cast $273.61
- Traverse rear steel powder coated with blocks $153.22
You may want to use our flanges, or go your own route
- Pair of axle flanges w/ dia. 944/T2 (86 mm) $328.33
Lastly, you can opt for one of our 2 styles of shifters, Beetle style or Porsche Style.. In the pdf's you will see the difference.
- speed shifter 915 Bug @ 5-Speed $397.80
- Porsche Style aka square Shifter 915 $491.52
Hope that helps for now, but please send me your email for more info on the conversion.
