Hi,

the EJ 20 T is not longer than a type 1 engine. But the problems most people have are the DOHC-heads. They are very high and by this they stand against the back of the car. Thatīs the reason, why everyboy who installs an EJ 20 T must bring the engine forward.
The 901 will dfinitely not stand the torque of this engine. We always use 915 gearboxes for this conversion. With my nose cone the gearbox comes 20 mm forward (compared to original). You have to grind the torsion tubes a little thinner if you use my nose cone in the 1303.
For Karmann usage nothing has to be grinded or cut out.

Our radiator does not sit in the back, but in the front of the 1303. It is about 60 x 20 x 20 cm.
