new again

hey, i just re-registered, and i'm back with a fury. and some dumb questions.

i just took my dad out kart racing for his b-day, and that **** was a blast. i've got the old itch again to start road-racing (karting seems too expensive, and i'd rather race a car), and i'm finally in a place where i can afford it.

so here's my dumb question. tube frame? is it worth it? can it be done? i really don't like supers, and i'd like to get in on some spokes.org/autox stuff within the next year, and i'd like to build a race car. so should i really try to build a whole damn tube frame set up for a standard, or just bite the bullet and get a super? what are your thought and opinions. i don't have a mega dollar budget, but i can afford to pay the bills and play on the side.
