Contrary to popular belief, VWOA is more financially succsesful than VWAG. In Europe, Volkswagen is currently one of worst selling cars. Lamborghini, and Bently barely generate enough revenue to offset cost, so I'd imagine that protection of the Volkswagen moniker, to them, is the least of their worries, especially since VWOA pretty much has that action on lockdown. Here in America, VW is a good selling brand, and is worthy of
some protection, but not to the extent they seem to want to go.
Yes, VWOA are more litigious, I guess because US courts seem to condone copyright litigation more so than in Europe.
