I don't like the flange-mounted tanks due to the increased chances of mounting failure during a collision or off-track excursion. I prefer tanks that mount with wrap-around straps and secure mounting system. Other than that consideration, I'm not worried about my interior-mounted tank. I don't recall the line strength on the Russell lines/fittings, but properly assembled flex lines shouldn't be a serious issue. Well, relative to the type of impact. Anything that breaks my tank loose / tears oil lines in my car, probably killed me as a result. We're not talking about the safest of vehicles here!

The only reason I wouldn't mount the oil tank inside my car on the next build is heat. It's quite toasty on a hot summer day!
