if i remember correctly these exhaust boxes have a mechanism to vary the flow path inside them... a free flowing mode for high rpm, and a more restrictive for low rpm like in traffic etc to lower dB levels and emissions
This is electronically controlled... I remember seeing one at my exhaust guy and it was a pain to install and hook up. Dont know if its year and/or model specific though
