Cooper light pics...

Finally got over to my buddy's and shot some pics tonight while helping him figure out how to make these work. The light angle is way off and they are narrower and longer... who said it would be easy

HEY! Those were mine...sorta:silly:

OOOOOOH MAN!...those are nice lights. I want to do the same ones but don't have the money right now... what size of fender are you guys using and how well do they center on the fender? is the back clearance going to be an issue or is it about the same as the beetle lights?

I hope you write a tech article on this one panel, it would be one of the best ones we have...IMO!

Keep me informed during the whole prosess, PLEASE!

John

It became obvious last night after looking at a rough mock-up, that my buddy is in wayyy over his head (probably over mine too, but I have the good sense to bring in a pro when needed and admit my skill level isn't that high).
I will probably have a lot of input/guidance on helping my buddy along but ultimately he has to step up and work his own project. (I have my own to get finished ) I get extremely frustrated with trying to work around someone else's ideas/budget to get to a finished product. That is why this is only a hobby for me and I do not build for or to suit anyone but me.
Yes John, I will keep everybody posted but unless I'm forced to take over the headlight job completely and work it my own way, there probably won't be much of a tech article. My buddy has a vision for his own car and I want him to have as much fun as he can stand, trying to reach that vision...while I'm over in my own garage, working on my stuff.
Yes Zen, clearance is gonna be a serious concern especially with the 17"ers he wants to run. This would just be another design element for me... but for my buddy, I don't think he has planned that far ahead. Once he begins to see the whole picture, he may pitch the light deal.
I guess it just baffles me, because when you tell me it won't work...my brain goes to work. When it doesn't fit... well, you guys have seen what I do. My wife thinks I'm a genius and my friends think I'm crazy.
