question axle fitment

I've got the axles of a 944T 1986 porsche to mount in my 1303 beetle with early alloy arms. I've dismanteled one side(inner side) of the 944 axle as i want to bold a 90 mm bug CV to it. The bug CV fits with a little hammering but know i have a question. As the bug CV is a little smaller as the 944 CV, so when i drive the bug cv over the 944 axle the splines on this axle are just a bit wider. Is this a problem? It seems that the bug cv sits really thight on the axle or should i shim the CV out on the axle side? I hope my question is understood by you all because my english is not all to good. Greets. Stuart
