944 emergency brake pads = VW?

I thought I had read a post (from Superman I think) that stated that the 944 emergency drum brake pads were the same as VW. Can someone Identify which VW model and year? Just thinking that VW replacements would be cheaper than Porsche.

Nope, they are the same as some BMW models. Quite a bit cheaper for the BMW than the Porsche!
