Porsche 911 rear suspension conversion

Hello everybody,
I've been looking into doing an IRS rear conversion on my swing-axle equipped Type I (a Euro '69), and I was wondering if the rear suspension assembly from the rear torsion tube rearwards from either a SWB (pre 69) 911 or a LWB could be made to work. The reason I'm asking is because I actually own all these parts, and I figured I'd put them to good use. I should add that the rest of the suspension will be comprehensively re-engineered (lowered, cambered, stiffened, etc) in order to end up with a well-sorted car.. What do you guys think?
