FS: 78 SB and Type IV 2270 CSP Carbon Fiber
This motor was built by Jake Raby about five years ago and has since been sitting. It is a 2270cc Type IV with the CSP carbon fiber 911 cooling system installed. It was designed to be turbo charged and will get sold with a brand new Garrett VNT turbo. The exhaust and intake plumbing will need to be fabricated. It has the fliywheel, clutch and pressure plate installed, ready to go into your bug. Jake built the motor, test fired and ran it, crated it, shipped it to me and its done nothing but collect dust (not much).
Its time to clean out the garage... and so this motor, and the whole project are for sale. I will sell all or part of the project and will accept any reasonable offer. Jake stated on STForums that you couldn't touch this motor today for less than $10,000 US. The motor was designed to be turbocharge and so the VNT goes with it. I would like to see $5000 plus shipping for this. The car is a '78 Suiper Beetle with new floor pans, reinforcement rails and heater channls. I have new fiberglass fenders all around as well as fiberglass running boards. The car has the Porsche 944 four wheel brakes and Porsche 911 17" (7.5" wide front, 9" rear) turbo twist wheels. The body is stripped to bare metal and ready for body work and paint. I have other miscelaneous parts as well. Ultimately, I would like to sell the motor and car at once to clear out the garage. I wil be willing to let the whole shabang go for $6000... you pick up or pay for shipping. If you are intersted, please post replies here or email me directly at rreed53@kc.rr.com . Thanks! Randy |

I've had a few people ask if te motor could be used without the turbo. To save anyone the trouble I thouht I'd post up and say that it can't be normally aspirate without a major rebuild... cam and heads at least... this is from what Jake Raby had told another interested individual. Just thought I'd let y'all know. Thanks!
